Lenovo CL268 Wide-Area Two-Way Radios Provide Communication Support for the Hangzhou Asian Games

From September 23rd to October 8th, the 19th Asian Games are being held in Hangzhou, China. This is the largest and most prestigious multisport event held in China since the COVID-19 pandemic, attracting over 12,000 athletes, 5,000 team officials, 4,700 technical officials, more than 12,000 media reporters, and millions of spectators, making it the largest event in the history of the Games.

Such a massive event requires reliable and stable communication support. It needs to cover a large area and maintain stable communication in densely populated areas, and this is where Lenovo’s wide-area two-way radios come into play.

Lenovo’s two-way radios are based on a deep understanding of the event, with a comprehensive plan that covers major venues, transportation routes, as well as related areas like Xiaoshan Airport and the airport expressway. They are equipped with Lenovo’s public network communication platform, which relies on telecom networks for transmission. This provides a comprehensive and reliable wide-area communication guarantee for the smooth operation of the Games.

One of the challenges in ensuring radio coverage has always been the large internal spaces and short-term gatherings of people in sports stadiums, as well as the long distances involved. The Lenovo Two-Way Radios project team started signal surveys and testing on-site as early as March, identifying issues such as weak signals in underground floors and parking garages at some venues, as well as unstable signals in the periphery of certain venues. They addressed these problems by adding signal coverage amplifiers and providing thousands of public network two-way radio terminals to various departments. Subsequently, in June, the relevant equipment was transported to the site, and with coordination from all parties, deployment and training were successfully completed in July. After the deployment, signal coverage was achieved in all major exhibition halls, ensuring seamless communication throughout the entire venue. Since August, Lenovo’s two-way radios, in collaboration with the Asian Games support teams, have conducted multiple comprehensive communication support drills, achieving excellent results.

Lenovo CL268

The CL268 wide-area two-way radios provided by Lenovo for on-site staff are the latest generation of wide-area two-way radios, weighing only 208 grams, making them easy to handle and operate with one hand. They feature loud and clear sound, incorporating AI noise reduction technology and titanium-plated diaphragms to ensure clean and clear voice communication even in noisy environments. With a standard 4000mAh lithium battery, they offer long-lasting battery life of up to 24 hours in high-performance mode, meeting the needs of continuous operation throughout the day. It’s worth mentioning that, for the on-site matching law enforcement recorder terminals, Lenovo’s IT-based two-way radios can achieve customized interface development, connecting the recorder and two-way radios. They have a secondary development scheduling platform that allows the two-way radios to be connected to the Internet of Things at any time, enabling the two-way radios to break free from traditional single-voice communication and expand their possibilities in more scenarios. Lenovo’s two-way radios are truly exceptional!
